What a busy month November has been, with 16 Families enjoying a fabulous trip to Disneyland Paris, and with Nationwide visiting over the Christmas period to make sure every child still registered with the charity will receive Christmas gift from Santa.

It’s with thanks to Wollaston BMW, 5 Nations challengers Tony Clarke & Neil Holman, & Team at Scott Bader Tony Sibscy and team, London Prudential Riders undertaking the Surrey 100 cycle ride, and Semilong Services – for providing the funding in memory their mother to pay for the trip. To Forbells for providing lunch for every family member on departure, Paul and Keith at the Swan – for providing the funds to buy every child a jacket for the trip, and to Nobles Engineering for arranging secure parking for everyone, all together they made a dream trip come true for so many children and their families – A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO YOU ALL. Monday 27th November saw 66 persons turn up for the start of our trip to Euro Disney, Leaving Earls Barton and on to St Pancras International. All the children were able to mix together on the double decker coach and on the train, building new friendships as we made our way to the Sequoia Lodge at Disney. The following morning the families took breakfast, and were off to experience the magical Disney Christmas. Christmas was all around, with the most wonderful fireworks and projected film animations onto the Disney Castle itself. Wednesday morning – saw all the families able to meet several characters at a character breakfast, with lots of fun still to come from the 2 parc’s, before making our way back to depart back to the UK. Creating memories and smiles.

With so many families saying thank you, we wanted to share one: “Hi NCTLC, thank you so much for organising the trip to Disney. We all had a magical time, meeting all the characters and being a part of the Disney atmosphere over the festive period, along with enjoying the rides! Seeing how much organisation that goes into arranging such an event for the charities children and families is inspirational and can sometimes get lost in all the euphoria of the trip. Well done to everyone involved and once again, thank you for allowing us to join in the fun! ~ Russell, Jodine and the Girls.

Following our last Ball, we approached QMC oncology ward in Nottingham, for their Big Appeal night. There we met Stephanie Smith, Children’s Hospital Clinical Director and Nigel Gregory from their charity, and presented them with a cheque for £2495.12. They have asked if the funds could be used to buy games consoles for the ward and benefit all children in the hospital. QMC is a place where many charity families go for treatment, and the staff there are amazing. Good luck to the QMC in reaching their £4

million refurbishment project too.

Some wonderful news – Ambivent in Moulton Park, have chosen to stay with us for an indefinite period, having changed from national charities as they said “They can see where their money makes a difference”. Caring Kindergarten have chosen the charity for next year. We are delighted to have been chosen by the Earls Barton Co-op for the next 12 months for the local community funding. The previous Co-op community funding, we had reported that the money raised gave a very special lad who was only 14, the chance to enjoy a memory with his family in Europe. Unfortunately, he lost his fight early in December and has now gained his wings. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that made his dream list possible, especially James at the Coop for letting us know about the community fund. Our deepest condolences go to a special family at this very difficult time. To the 80 Lions Club raised £1200 earlier on this year, we are pleased to report that this funding has been restricted towards the counselling services for youngsters, who will be able to gain direct access via Service 6.

We are entering into our 10th year an exciting year planned for our families, some events already paid for like our camping weekend in Oxford in July.

Founder said “We look forward to working with so many wonderful people next year on various project. Can I take a moment of reflection and thankyou all from the bottom of our hearts, because without you guys, we couldn’t do what we do for these beautiful brave strong young children. A very Happy New Year”.
