NC TLC Trust latest news and thank you’s


Kettering McQueen looking amazing, along with our charity Founder and Chairman.

Lots to share from the last month, starting off by saying what great weather we’ve had, scorching temperatures and all in time for the carnival which was a great day. We made it into the chronicle and echo with Lighting McQueen, Millie Mouse and our very own Storm Trooper. Thank you to all our helpers on the day Michelle & James barrow for bringing along Lightning and James our very hot Storm Trooper who did manage to cool down with thanks to the Fire Brigade who turned on their hoses and provided a giant shower for all who wanted to step in front, Jean, Mo, Lynne and her sister for manning our stalls throughout the day. Wendy Williams, Fred and Daisy for your support throughout the day, Sarah Golds, aka Millie Mouse, Kevin and TJ Smith. We had a Teddy Tombola, Name the teddy and toy raffle, in total we raised £147.50, so a huge thank you to all those who visited our stall and helped us to raise the money by buying tickets.

Charity Golf Day 2017

BMW hosted their Golf Tournament, which saw many golf teams all competing against each other, with prizes at the end. Wollaston BMW said “We had another fantastic day on the golf course to raise money for NCTLC Trust yesterday! We’re thrilled to have raised £4,000 for the charity from the day! Sincerest thank yous go to all our players for taking part, everyone who sponsored holes and gave donations, also to Northampton Golf Club for having us for the day! And our winners were… Winner of lowest handicap category was Domanic Jessup who scored 42 points off a handicap of 2! Winner of higher handicap category was David Abel who scored 41 off a handicap of 13! Winner of Ladies Category was Anne Hammond who scored 37 points off a handicap of 25 although as she had previously qualified the team place for the International cup went to 2nd place who was Magda Sargent who scored 30 points off a handicap of 22!”.

You may remember that Dave Rainbow ran the London Marathon for us along with his bother Mark, we are pleased to announce that the total funds raised was £7584.50, thank you to all who donated and supported the guys, thank you to Dave for running for us and to Mark for also running.

Many donations were received throughout the month including another anonymous donation for £100, whoever you are we say thank you for your kind and generous support. Thanks also goes to Jennifer Houghton for her £40 which she makes monthly.

A huge thank you to Claire Smith for the help you have given in the office over the last few months volunteering with us and look forward to working with you for the foreseeable future. Thank you to the Nationwide team, Chris and his team, Chloe, Conor, Sam, Lauren, Lewis, Jade, Cathy, Amy, Hinda, Shane, Jordan and Muhammed who graced us with their presence again and helped with assisting Alistair at the allotment, tidying up and making repairs to our shed and helping Janet in the office. Thank you for a further £30 donation which was received in memory of the late Daphne Knight.

The Handmade Skateboard, how big is that!

Thank you also goes to Ambivent Maintenance Manager, Harvey Mobbs who handcrafted this amazing Skateboard and raffled it off, raising £515 by doing so.

Thank you to the James family for their £1,510.10 donation that was collected in memory of the late Alice Bridget James, sent through from John White Funeral Directors. Thank you to Lucy Hammersley, who celebrated her 70th Birthday last month “Happy Belated birthday wishes Lucy”, who donated £70 to the charity, Lucy has 2 young nephews who the charity support and she wanted to continue that support by donating.

Another amazing cake made by Beth Collins of The Creative Cupcake Company.

Thank you, Beth Collins from The Creative Cupcake company, for Junes birthday, the cake went to a little boy who is currently in and out of hospital very poorly. Thank you to Tina Twisleton for raising an additional £475 at the White Collar boxing event.

Next month the charity will be holding an 80’s Fancy Dress Disco Fundraiser at the Old Swan, Earls Barton, the date is Friday 15th September at 8pm, we are asking for donations on the door for entry to the evening as we are not charging for tickets. The hosts for the evening are Paul Dexter and Keith, all money raised will go towards sending our families to Disneyland Paris for this year’s Fantasy Christmas Break, we will be giving out a prize for the best fancy dress costume on the night.
