May 2019 Newsletter

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the flowers are up! It is a great time at the NC TLC and our Trustee Alistair, has been our weeding and turning the soil in the allotment in preparation for a new season of growing. Our local families enjoy getting their hands dirty, planting vegetables and enjoying the fresh air in our allotment. This is very therapeutic and has many benefits for our children because they can spend quality time with their family. If you are looking to volunteer your time this spring, please get in contact with us at operations@nctlctrust.com. We are always looking for companies and individuals who might like to help us tend to our allotment.

We have a lot of people to thank this month who have been very generous. We cannot do our vital work for our children and their families without your kind support.

Thank you to George Wright and all of the staff and families from Caring Kindergartens who raised £230.00 for our cause. We truly appreciate your kindness! Thank you for being an ongoing supporter.

We would like to thank Marie Jacobs and all the staff at Morrisons Swan Valley for participating in a raffle which raised £1322.00 for the charity. Your generosity means the world to us!

A huge thank you goes out to Katie Wederell and The Wederell Trust for your generous donation of £1815.88 towards the NC TLC Trust. We plan to use your donation to take our families on a camping trip to Oxfordshire this summer, offering them the much needed rest and fun that they deserve after all that they have been through.

We would like to say a very big thank you to the Co-op in Earls Barton for raising an astounding £3438.57. This will go a very long way to helping many of our families in crisis get the crucial support that they need. Some of the support services that we offer are financial, such as emergency grants, wish grants, events and other types of services like counselling which are all vital to our families.

Thank you to Judy Webb and the Rushden Rotary Club Chichele for your donation of £90.00 raised during Christmas. Your donation and continued support, including sponsoring the NC TLC Trust for It’s A Knockout, is greatly appreciated.

We have a very special thank you to issue to two of our charity families. Thank you so much to Miss Gracie, one of our charity children, and to her sisters,  Lexie and Poppy, for your kind donation of £210.86 towards the charity. Gracie has helped raise funds through us through her channel GLH Speaks Up! on YouTube which deals with anti-bullying and her own journey. It is a positive resource for all children who have dealt with bullying, please check it out! Thank you also to Annie Hope for volunteering to create beautiful scrapbooks so our families can log their precious memories.

We have a couple major events coming up this month for the NC TLC Trust. Funfest is happening on the 19th of May at 12pm, which we have been advertising for some time. Part of the proceeds for this fantastic event are being donated to the Trust to help our families during their time of hardship. We are also entering a team in It’s A Knockout! It is sure to be a great day to spend with the family to raise some money for local charities, with barbequing, stalls and children’s activities all on the menu for the day!

Hinton Groundworks are also sponsoring a golf event in our name at Brampton Heath Golf Club on Friday, 31st of May. If you are interested in getting a team together to take part or donating a raffle prize, please call 01604 599905.

We are also still looking for new volunteers to help out with the charity. We have a variety of positions available. Please visit our website www.nctlctrust.com to submit a volunteer application. We need you!
